A várak a középkori főurak jól védhető lakhelyei. Magasra építették, illetve tornyokkal látták el, hogy messzire elláthassanak. A vár legfontosabb lakói a fegyveresek voltak: lovagok, íjászok, lovászok, testőrző vitézek s persze a gyalogság, kapuőrök, fegyverkovácsok.
Szabályos alaprajzú várak sík terepen épültek. Vizesárokkal és várfallal vették körül.
A szabálytalanok a hegyvidékek várai, várkastélyai, melye sziklaszirtekre, hegyormokra, fennsíkokra épültek. Vizesárok és várfal itt is fontos védelmi része volt a váraknak. Bled Castle (Slovene: Blejski grad, German: Burg Veldes) is a medieval castle built on a precipice overlooking Lake Bled. It was first mentioned in a 1011 deed of donation issued by Emperor Henry II in favour of the Bishops of Brixen. It passed to the Austrian House of Habsburg in 1278.

The oldest part of the castle is the Romanesque tower. In the Middle Ages more towers were built and the fortifications were improved. Other buildings were constructed in the Renaissance style. The site, strategically placed in one of few historic crossings of the River Don, has been home to a fortification since at least 600 AD. It belonged to one of the seven English kings, prior to the unification of England.

Egyiptomi istenek

 

Az ókori egyiptomban sokáig több istent tiszteltek.

Hitük szerint a fáraó közvetít az istenek és az emberek között.

Feladata, hogy isten nevében rendet tegyen az emberek között.

Általában ember alakban, de különös fejjel, fejdísszel jelentek meg. Az istenekhez tartozó állatokat a valóságban is szentként tisztelték.
 Pl. macska, szkarabeusz bogár.

 
A hatalmas templomok is azért épültek, hogy szentélyükben elhelyezzék az istenszobrot.

 Ahova csak a fáraó és a főpapok léphettek be a szertartások és ünnepségek alkalmával.

Ozirisz -  Múmia formájú. Fején szarvakkal kísért fehér koronát visel. Kezében a hatalom jelképeit tartja - a korbácsot és a görbe botot. Az alvilág istene.


Thot -  Íbiszfejű isten fején a holdsarlóval. Az írás és a számolás istene.


Ízisz -  Szárnyakkal ábrázolt istennő, fején hireoglifajelét hordja. Oltalmazó és varázsló. Ozírisz felesége.
